Greek Chapter 5 Finale: My thoughts

That was the big finale? Seriously? It all felt so - for lack of a better word - blah, to me.
I mean, of course yay, Cappie and Casey are finally together. But already, they're being pushed apart by Casey's secret about burning down the Gamma Psi house - possibly.

I'm devastated the Cappie/Evan bromance seems to be over. I posted on IMDb my theories on Evan. I think he has a bit of a self-esteem issue. He needs people to like him. And even if they don't like him, he needs them to respect him.
In Freshman Daze, he was devastated the KT's only gave him a bid because of Cappie. Even when he finally realised Frannie was only using him for his money, he changed, and subsequently broke up with her.
It's happened again with his Omega Chi brothers, but this time it turned out bad for the other characters we love. And I blame that douche redhead for that. I really don't think Evan wanted the whole prank to go ahead, but in his mind, he saw no other option. Sure, he was stupid, but at least he actually felt remorse for once right?

It was sad when Cappie said he lost four of his best friends. I like to think he was including Evan in that. So thankful Beaver wasn't one of the expelled. I'll miss Wade, but he's in a new show so they needed to write him out. Jeremy and Ferret I'm not really bothered about.
I'm getting the feeling that Cappie is realising college isn't forever anyway. Maybe they're setting it up so that when they graduate, it won't seem so wrong.

The ZBZ storyline seemed a bit haphazard. It took a lot to finally get to the fire cliffhanger. The dance was cool, although Abby is still annoying. The High School Musical jokes were pretty good though. Ashleigh and Fisher won't last much longer. I don't think he's cheating on her with that girl but why have the scene if it has no purpose? I think Ash's trust issues will get the better of her.
Please just have Rusty graduate early and get him off the show!!!!!!!!!! Ugh I can't STAND him. All I wanted to do was fast-forward through his boring storyline. And Dale was a lot meaner than usual, and not in an endearing way.
Let's just hope that they don't give Rusty another hot girlfriend. So unrealistic and so, so annoying.

You know what else is annoying? Evan and Rebecca. Seriously, are there no other guys on campus? Again, I just think Evan was lonely and had noone else to turn to. Please don't push them into a relationship!

I love meeting famous people....

So excited! I got to meet some One Tree Hill people when I was back in Wilmington last week. (Just a bit of back story for those of you who don't know - I attended UNC-Wilmington in 2006 on a Study Abroad program which is where I met my fiancee).

So, my friends and I went downtown because it was my last night in town for awhile. Jokingly, before we went out, I said I wanted to meet Sophia Bush that night, but that any OTH person would do.

Of course, I got way too drunk. We were out the front of a bar and Mark Schwahn walks by so I yelled out 'Mark Schwahn!'. LOL

But he stopped and said hi, I was so wasted it was disgusting but he was nice. He said he loves Australians. I asked for a picture and he was like 'Don't you want one of Stephen Colletti?' I look over, and wait, there's Chase! haha So he got in the picture too.

Now there were two other guys with them, one of which Mark said was gonna be in the show too. I can't remember his name - maybe Michael? - he had a beard though.

So we went upstairs to the bar they went to, that we had just come from but that we were going back to anyway (not a total stalker!). And my friend James shows up.....with Lee Norris! I was like 'WTF'???? But it was cool, I chatted drunkenly to Lee for awhile...he wasn't hugely friendly like everyone says he is, but he was ok. He told me his girlfriend's name, and where she lives, and that he wanted to do Study Abroad in Australia...that was about it. He was a little sad when I told him about the crappy airing times in Australia.

And that was about it. I got pictures, but I seriously looked horrible, so it was the worst night to meet them!

My friend tried to hit on Stephen (she didn't know who he was) but he was kinda rude to her.

Yayy!!! Great night! So fun!!

Please don't judge me for how terrible I look in these pictures....

Stephen Colletti, me & Mark Schwahn

Lee Norris and my buddy James

Me, Lee & James

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I missed last week's episode of OTH because my friends in Wilmy don't have cable, but I think I kinda liked last night's episode.
I liked seeing Brooke not so needy, although her new model is irritating. Millie was actually lovable. Haley is a little too angsty, but understandably. Not enjoying the Dan/Rachel storyline. There has to be some hidden agenda.
Speaking of hidden agendas, I don't see why people think Clay has one. True, I'm usually wrong about this stuff but I think he's a good guy. I like him. And he wouldn't have been so rude and abrupt when he told the girl (Renee, is it?) that she was a lying bitch if he actually new her and was in on a scam with her.
I like Quinn, and I'm pulling for a Quinn/Clay romance. (Clinn? Quinton? Quay? Quayton?)
I also liked seeing a bit more of the Brooke/Haley friendship. As annoying as Alex is, I feel like she has an interesting backstory. Especially when they cut to her being lonely on the steps.
I feel like Mouth and Skills are the boring outcasts this season. At least it's not Nathan and Haley this time! <3

Greek Season 3 Episode 3 Recap

Rusty and Jordan are making out and basically talking about having sex, even though there is the possibility of Dale (who doesn't appear in the episode) walking in. Rusty's phone rings and he is needed at the lab. He suggests they make it quick, to which Jordan scoffs "yeah, real romantic!" They discuss it a bit more and decide to wait a little longer.

ZBZ is having a house meeting. Fisher brings cookies for the girls, to whom Ashleigh announces that they have broken up. She implies - though does not name - Rebecca was the culprit.
The 61st Annual Greek Undie Run is being held and all the girls are excited. The game of Gotcha is down to 20 players. The winning house gets a cash prize and blue ribbon points.
Casey is bored with the Pledge Educator position and takes over the Pan Hellenic representative position instead.

Rusty and Calvin are chatting about relationships, and the game of Gotcha. Rusty hasn't even opened his envelope and doesn't know who he has. There is a mysterious 'Jackal' in the game who has killed a lot of players. Rusty doesn't even know how to shoot a gun. Calvin shows him his, and Rusty proceeds to shoot him. Rusty had Calvin. He therefore gets Calvin's target who just happens to be Jordan.

At the Pan Hellenic Council meeting, Casey endorses the Undie Run. The President, Katherine, is quite the psycho.

At the Kappa Tau house, Beaver, Heath and Cappie are training for Gotcha. Beaver is the only remaining KT in the competition. Rusty joins them and tells him he is still in the game. They all laugh. "As if!" But it's true! Being a geek has saved him, it seems, because he only hangs out at places other Greeks have never heard of. For example, the chemistry lab. That just might be the strategy the KT's need to win. And they do need to win. They are running very low on cash.

After her meeting, Casey gets in an elevator. Evan also gets in. It's awkward.

Rusty and Jordan are making out again. He starts to pull his gun out of his bag. She tells him she feels safe with him and so he chickens out and puts the gun back. She trusts him and really wants to sleep with him. They're talking about sex too much for my liking. I don't want to know that much about Rusty. But they agree to meet up the following night.

Grant and Calvin are watching Hugh Jackman movies. Grant's favourite is Kate & Leopold. Cute! They start making out but Evan interrupts. He wants to hang out too. He jokes that he loves Kate & Leopold. They agree to watch Wolverine. It's pretty badass.

Pan Hellenic says they will dock blue ribbon points from any sorority who participates in the Undie Run.

Beaver is dead! In Gotcha, at least. He was set up by the Jackal. They lured him with fake free drink coupons for Dobler's. The coupons are pretty realistic. It must be an art major who did them...Jordan is the Jackal! Rusty doesn't want to kill her in case it means he won't get any sex.

There is a meeting of all the sorority and fraternity representatives. Evan supports the Undie Run, as do all the fraternities. Casey makes her case for the Undie Run. She doesn't think sororities should be docked blue ribbon points for participating. It symbolises school spirit and unity. Katherine then shows gratuitous photos of previous Undie Runs. The KTs are involved, as is Ash. Katherine is ruining the fun to prove a point.

Jordan shows up at Rusty's apartment. He has his back to her. She tells him she's ready. She then shoots, but Cappie, who has been hiding behind the curtains, dives in front of Rusty to save him. Jordan is distraught. She can't believe Rusty didn't trust her. WTF??? Seems he had reason to! For some reason, Rebecca shows up.

The ZBZ sisters are looking for a way to override the Pan Hellenic vote. They discover that if they get 500 sorority sisters to sign a petition, they will be able to Run.
Casey says she has a plan. She goes to see Evan. They snipe at each other for a little while. But he does like the idea of half-naked sorority girls. It is a very Cappie-like comment and Casey asks if they have been hanging out? Of course not, Evan replies. (Hehe they so have!)
Evan asks how he can help. Casey tells him to strip.

A half-naked Evan, plus other assorted fraternity guys, are getting girls to sign the petition. Rebecca and Evan are becoming friendly. She tells him he is her only friend at the moment. The ZBZ girls are still mad at her for what she did to Ashleigh.

Cappie, Beaver, Heath and some other KT brothers are keeping Rusty safe at the house. He can't believe Jordan would try to attack him and agrees to go after her. The KT boys roll out the guns. They're going hunting!

Calvin and Grant are having their first date. 60 miles from campus. Grant told the wait staff it was Calvin's birthday so they get a free dessert. They hold hands as a group of staff members come to sing Happy Birthday. Including Evan. Uh oh!

A surveillance operation is underway. Rusty ambushes Jordan, but she is protected by Rebecca. Rusty runs out of ammunition. Jordan looks up and realises it is Rusty.

Casey got 688 signatures on her petition. Katherine makes Casey feel bad about it. Bitch.

Calvin and Evan are talking at the Omega Chi house, in Calvin's room. Evan got fired from the job because he didn't sing Happy Birthday to Calvin. He admits that he gave up his trust fund and is broke.
Calvin says he and Grant are trying to discover real feelings and emotions before they get to the 'other stuff'. Evan asks why they couldn't just hang out in their room. Right then, a bunch of Omega Chis burst into the room. Evan understands.

Casey continues to feel bad about overturning the Pan Hellenic decision and the image the Undie Run gives about sorority girls.

Rebecca and Cappie monitor Jordan and Rusty's liaisons. Cappie tells Rusty not to be Rhianna - don't go back to someone who has hurt you! LOL. Cappie puts Rusty in protective custody.

Evan and Casey find themselves together in the elevator again. She tells him she quit the Pan Hellenic Council. He says he thought it suited her. She wants to make it more meaningful.

Rusty has escaped from the KT house, so Cappie calls a rescue mission. It turns out Rusty was just hiding in a laundry hamper. He has a note from Jordan saying she misses him, will he meet her for dinner?
She is waiting for him at his apartment. They agree on no games, but neither trusts the other. A gun fight ensues. They try to call a truce but it doesn't work. They are each hiding behind furniture. Jordan begins to strip off and throws her clothes at Rusty (cheater!), who stands up and looks at her, smiling.

Evan has new locks put on the doors in the Omega Chi house for Calvin and Grant's benefit.

Fisher is handing out drinks to the ZBZ sisters before the Undie Run. Ash tells him to quit already but he says he's not giving up on her.
Casey announces that everyone should keep their clothes on.

Rusty and Jordan slept together. They are cuddling. She reaches for her gun and shoots him but he doesn't care. Cappie bangs on the door, trying to save him. Rusty tells him to go away.

Casey has turned the Undie Run into a charity drive. As everyone strips, they throw their clothes into a hamper and the clothes will go to the homeless. She also decides to stay on the Pan Hellenic Council. As she strips down, she turns and runs into a half-naked Cappie. More awkwardness. When will those crazy kids get it together???
Not next week it seems. Next week is all about Casey and Evan.
I love Evan. Just not with Casey.

One Tree Hill Season 7 Episode 1 Recap

Apologies for the quality of the writing. I'm writing it as I watch.

Dan begins with telling his story, not long to live, that was 14 months ago, yada yada yada.

Haley is singing.

Brooke and Julian are making out on the beach. He has to go back to LA, he wants her to go with him.

Jamie has a 'Nathan Scott' Charlotte Bobcats playing card.

Millie is giving orders to an assistant, reminiscent of her scene with Brooke two years ago.

Quinn is taking photos of a small girl, who picks up a bullet casing. Quinn looks sad.

Mouth asks Skills (yes - Skills - we all thought he was gone) to move out.

Clayton is negotiating a deal with someone. He goes to see Nathan (at Trask Coliseum at UNCW! Woo!) and lets him know. Although he still doesn't have a contract for the upcoming season.

Brooke and Julian are in a limo. She tells him she doesn't want him to go.  He says she should go with him now that Peyton is gone. She can run Clothes Over Bros from anywhere. But Tree Hill is home.

It's Jamie's 7th birthday. Haley pretends he slept through it, and then that he is only 4. Cute stuff.

Nathan is filming a sexy commercial for a body spray. He's pretty bad! Clayton tells him so, but tries to help him through it because Nate is getting 6-figures from it. Apparently it's his only source of income.

Mouth is walking around the apartment naked to get Skills to leave. Skills says it won't work.

Haley has decorated for Jamie's party. No clowns! She shows him the cake (with a clown - wtf??) but there is a piece missing. Quinn ate it. She then pushes Jamie's face into the cake and a cake fight between the 3 of them ensues.

Skills and Mouth are both naked. They love each other. Millie arrives home.

Brooke is looking at a picture of her and Julian. She's sad. FLASHBACK. On the beach. Julian tells her he's been offered a film in New Zealand for 8 months. She tells him he should take it. He tells her time will fly by, then they'll be together. Cut to a shot of the sand. The words MARRY ME are written there, and are washed away by a wave. Did Brooke write it??

Jamie's party. Clayton helps Haley serve and kind of hits on her. Nathan cuts in. Jamie comes to hug his Dad. Lots of jokes. Quinn appears. Clayton likes her.

Brooke is leaving messages for Julian but he hasn't got back to her. Nice chats with Haley and Brooke about Haley's new record and boy stuff.

Time for presents! Lucas and Peyton's is first. Jamie reads the card. It's Luke's basketball that Keith gave him. Skills gives him CDs. Nathan got him a Jerry Rice jersey. Clayton calls Jerry Rice to get him to sign the jersey. He's here! Nate is kind of disappointed. Skills is too.

Random chick takes a photo with Nathan and asks him if he's signed a contract yet. She says "You don't remember me do you?" Jamie comes and tells Nate that Jerry Rice signed his jersey. The girl disappears.

Brooke writes Jamie a cheque. He is going to make a wish for Brooke as well as himself.

Cue Julian's entrance! Man that smile is gorgeous!

They are making out in a bedroom. He says he came for Jamie's birthday. What about the movie? What about it? More making out.

Haley is showing Quinn where she can stay. Of course it just happens to be the room Brooke and Julian are in.

Clayton is talking to Nathan outside. Haley joins them. Quinn is married it seems.

Jerry Rice is playing football with Jamie, Quinn and the other kids. Jamie gets a touchdown. I like Quinn.

Brooke and Julian are back on the beach.Brooke remembers how their relationship used to be. They'd talk every night and her heart would race every time the phone rang or she got a message in the hope it would be him. He still gets that with her. She wished for him to be there and he was and it's amazing. He wished for skinny dipping. Are you coming in or not? That's what she said!

Nathan and Haley are talking about the day. He thanks her for it. She dreamed of nights like these when he was away. Jamie joins them. Nathan and Jamie are going to the Rivercourt to use Lucas' basketball.

Quinn comes out with some wine and makes a crack about Nathan and Taylor.

Haley asks Quinn about her husband. Haley misses their childhood. Quinn asks why? She has it all right here.

At the Rivercourt Jamie asks Nate why Luke stopped playing basketball. Nathan tells him he had a problem with his heart like Grandpa Dan. Jamie misses Luke, not Dan. Instead of playing HORSE they will play LUCAS.

Clayton is making calls to team for Nathan.

Brooke asks Julian about the movie. There were some problems with visas etc and it will now be a 10 month shoot instead of 8. But he reveals he decided not to produce it. He wants to be with Brooke.

Quinn is looking at family photos.

Clayton is still selling Nathan to teams. A blonde girl shows up. She strips when he doesn't get off the phone and heads to the bedroom. Clayton follows.

Quinn shows Jamie her photos of Africa. It's Jamie's bed time. Haley and Quinn missed each other. The studio is calling Haley. Another random woman is waiting there for her. She pretty much mocks the Scott family. She then reveals she is there to close the label.

Haley goes to talk to Quinn. Quinn is crying. She left her husband. He's not the man she fell in love with. She didn't want to spend the rest of her life with a stranger.

Jamie is going through his Rap and Hip Hop CDs that Skills gave him. Nathan comes to tuck him in. Jamie asks if his 7th birthday was just as fun. Nate says they had a party planned but there was a peewee basketball tournament on the same day so it got cancelled. When Nathan didn't do well, Dan didn't speak to him for the rest of his birthday. Jamie says Nate should forgive Dan.

Jamie turns on the TV when Nathan leaves. Dan is on, talking about forgiveness and redemption. When you unburden yourself of your mistakes, your heart grows stronger. He should know.

Brooke is scared of her love for Julian.

Clayton is talking into a dictaphone. He's still set on getting Nathan a contract. He also says, on the 14th he needs to send flowers. He looks sad. Mystery! The blonde chick comes out but he tells her he has to go. He doesn't believe in love.

4:30 am. Clayton shows Nathan a picture of Nathan and the girl from earlier. Clayton says this girl says she slept with Nathan and is going public.

So what did we all think? I loved all the shirtless boys! I think I love Quinn and Clayton. Brooke is a little needy. I didn't even notice Peyton and Lucas weren't there.

Wedding Stuff

For those of you who asked (but mostly for Ash :D)......here are some wedding details.

We picked Hawaii because it was halfway between Sydney and North Carolina. And also because it's awesome.

The resort we are going to book at the end of this month is called The Kahala. We would have booked it earlier but the don't allow you to book it more than 12 months out. It's just beautiful. There are even six dolphins that live at the resort and you can go swimming with them!

Here is the link....
http://www.kahalaresort.com/
It is on the island of Oahu, about 10-15 minutes from Waikiki.

Here are some pictures...
Resort Dolphins

The Kahala Pool

We would have the ceremony in the gazebo, and the reception on the lawn to the right of it, or in the room on the far right

The gazebo all done up

View From Afar

I'm having three bridesmaids and two flower girls. P is having five groomsmen, which sounds a lot, but it's a long story of how we got there! And I kind of like the idea of having an uneven bridal party. I had always planned on having frangipanis as my flowers for my wedding. In Hawaii they call them plumeria. I'm actually considering getting fake ones because frangis wilt easily. Here's a pic for those of you who don't know what they look like. They're lovely and beachy.

I was going to have green bridesmaid dresses to match the frangipani leaves, but I found exactly what I've been looking for at Forever 21, just in a different colour. So now I'm considering different shades of blue. Here's the dress I found.
http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog_name=FOREVER21&category_name=dress_dressy&product_id=2060232948&Page=all
None of my girls have tried it on yet, and I'm still looking at other stuff too. I actually found some nice dresses in Dillard's yesterday. I don't want typical bridesmaid dresses. I want them to be flowy and cocktail-y, because it will be too hot otherwise. And my dress is kind of flowy, so we'll match. Plus, the one at Forever 21 is cheap! LOL
The groomsmen and P will all wear beige slacks with P in an ivory shirt (my dress is ivory) and the boys in a shirt to match the bridesmaid's colour. They will either go barefoot or be in Havaianas.

Just an example of a pair :)

I've been having trouble finding flowergirl dresses because there is a bit of an age difference with mine. One will be three years old and the other one will be eight. Most of the dresses I've found have either been too young for the eight-year-old, or too grown up for the one who's three. But I did find a nice, simple one (I don't like the princess-y ones because they're not really appropriate for our casual wedding) at David's Bridal yesterday.
http://www.davidsbridal.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplayView?storeId=10052&catalogId=10051&categoryId=-49998961&currentIdx=1&subCategory=-49998976|-49998962|-49998961&catentryId=6126093&sort

Entertainment-wise, we'd like a three-piece Hawaiian acoustic band with lots of dancing. And that's all I really have so far! I'll provide updates as we make more plans!
Just know that I am definitely not a 'Bride-zilla' type. If something doesn't go to plan, I'm ok with it. Just like I'm easy with the bridesmaid dresses. Let me know what you think!

Glee

I kind of intermittently watched the pilot when it aired, but I really enjoyed it and was excited for the season to start but I feel like it let me down tonight.
Maybe it was just the "Don't Stop Believin'" that got me hooked in the pilot. Although I did love their version of Goldigger tonight. What happened with that?
Hate the wife, she's awful. I've never been a fan of Jessalyn Gilsig. Jane Lynch is absolutely hilarious. Hate her character but she has the best lines.
Jayma Mays is my favourite, I love her. Will is pretty cool but he has to dump his wife.
I'm enjoying the Rachel/Finn relationship but it is very expected and I'm surprised they went with it so soon. I thought the whole picnic scene was a dream!

The episode was a little confusing too. I'm going to give it another chance. I'm enjoying the performances they show in the previews so I hope they come soon.

Greek Recaps - Season 3, Episodes 1 and 2

These will just be limited recaps. Unfortunately I have had to watch both episodes online because I have been out the last two Mondays, but hopefully next week I will be able to blog as I am watching.

Episode One

It picks up the morning after the End of the World party.
Cappie never went after Casey and she has been comfort eating all night. Max is already gone. Apparently there are 3am flights to London from CRU.
Rusty is freaking out because his grades have fallen too low and he'll be dropped from the honours program unless he can finish the extra credit work he left behind to attend the End of the World party with Jordan.
So, to cut to the chase, he basically blackmails Casey into helping him break into the chemistry building because she made Max leave. It seems Rusty was obsessed with Max. Cappie also turns up to help, dressed as a ninja of course. There's awkwardness. Between Cappie and Casey of course but also between Rusty and Cappie. Rusty blames Cappie for the Casey/Max break-up. Basically, Rusty is a little bitch.
They nearly get caught but Cappie distracts the authorities and Rusty gets his extra credit work done.
Meanwhile, Calvin and Dale are both freaking out about their purity pledges. Grant emerges half naked from Calvin's room and Calvin can't remember what happened. Grant messes with his head for awhile before telling him nothing happened. Although they want to be together, they agree to take it slow.
Dale, however, has sinned and is no longer a virgin. He decides the best course of action is to propose, which sends Sheila running.
Evan is not enjoying being broke and Rebecca lends him money. In return, he pretends to be the guy Rebecca was spotted kissing at the party, who Ashleigh is trying desperately hard to discover the identity of.
Cappie and Casey have a nice chat where we all get the idea that they are in love with each other. But why didn't Cappie go after Casey??? Cut to the previous night.
Cappie is going after Casey but is stopped by a drunk Evan who wants him to party. When Evan discovers Cappie's reason for wanting to leave, he talks him out of it and tells him to wait until the morning and see if he still feels the same way. The camera pans and we see Rebecca kissing her mystery boy - Fisher. :O
Also, in this episode, a game is set up for the Greeks where each person gets a name and they have to 'shoot' that person. This game continues at least until episode 3.

Episode Two

Evan isn't in the episode. :(
It's the ZBZ Father-Daughter Weekend and Ash is psyched her Dad is coming because he's like her best friend. Rebecca's Dad has been rediscovering himself at a retreat, and Casey's Dad doesn't understand her.
Rusty is preparing to meet Jordan's Dad. But first he needs to study, and Beaver and Pickle have a hilarious game of silent charades behind him as he does.
Casey figures out something is up with Fisher and Rebecca and when she confronts them, Fisher admits they kissed. Casey says she will keep it quiet because she doesn't want to hurt Ash. But Rebecca blurts it out and gives Casey away in the process.
Because all three girls are fighting, their dads start fighting too.
Jordan's Dad thinks Rusty is a football player. Rusty is an idiot about it. Her Dad later catches them in the act..or just before it at least. So Jordan's Dad now hates Rusty.
Cappie and Dale fight over a catholic girl, but for different reasons. Dale wants her spiritual guidance, and Cappie wants to...you know...
Although we find out later it's because he's trying to get over Casey.
At the Frat Guy/Father football match, Casey and Ash make up but are still mad at Rebecca. Rusty is a douchebag and tackles Jordan's Dad and makes him injure his back. Of course he just looks around like "What? I didn't do anything wrong." Can you tell I hate Rusty?
But Jordan doesn't even really care (she's way too hot for Rusty by the way) and they're making out by episode's end.
Fisher tries numerous times to apologise to Ash but she just can't trust him anymore. She wants him back though, even if she doesn't admit it. She does sad, puppy-dog eyes well.
At Dobler's, Cappie is reading a book for his new Book Club with Dale. Casey spots him and they discuss how the book's characters could never get the timing quite right. Ahhh metaphors.

So I'm not sure how I feel about this season yet. It seems like a lot of nothing has happened. Episode 3 looks great though, and I'm looking forward to the Beaver and Heath scenes!

Delayed Reaction

So I've been out of action for a couple of weeks. Not literally, just with little time to update. But my IMDb pals have inspired me to write a bit so I'll hopefully get a few recaps up today.

My brother came to stay with us in Raleigh which was fun. We headed to a friend's lake house and down to Wilmington, which is one of my favourite places in the world. Heading back down there this weekend for a week. One of my bridesmaid's still goes to college there so we're going bridesmaid dress shopping! Yay!

I have a feeling my blog is going to become very wedding-oriented in the coming months!

And speaking of weddings, we had the Wedding of the Year this past weekend, in the North Carolina Mountains. It was the union of my fiance's brother and his beautiful girl. It was such a gorgeous wedding. For my facebook friends who read this, you'll have seen the pictures!

So don't hold me to it, but hopefully updates coming soon!

Gossip Girl

Before I get to GG....

OH MY GOD I LOVE MATT AND JULIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Matt is seriously the most endearing and adorable character ever. God love him.

Also, I heart Coach Taylor.

But I'll post about FNL when I finish the season...

---------------------------------------------------------------

So I was always interested in seeing Gossip Girl, but I wanted to watch it in its' entirety, not just grab a random episode when I could. So I bought Season 1 when it was on sale last week. Holy crap it's addictive.

It's just so deliciously trashy.

I haven't finished the season yet (I'm alternating between it and FNL) but I don't get the appeal of Blair yet. However, I do love her with Chuck. Speaking of, I was expecting to hate Chuck but he's actually ok.

My favourite couple is Serena and Dan. They're cute together, but I know what happens between them because I'm a spoiler-whore and it makes me sad.

Nate's a bit blah, but he's lovely eye candy.

I refuse to like Jenny because Taylor Momsen just seems like a try-hard. She's 16 for Christ's sake.

Don't like Vanessa, way too righteous. Or Lily, she's just rude.

Love Rufus.

I don't really have a favourite character. It's more that I just want to see Serena and Dan together.

Dan needs to get rid of Vanessa. Blair needs to get less boring. Chuck and Dan need to have more scenes. Serena and Blair need to hate each other more often. Nate needs to be more interesting, and get a better love interest.

But anyway, that's my thoughts so far. More to come!

The List Series: Top Eight TV Shows That Should Be Released on DVD

Because I couldn't come up with ten.....

Number Eight
Second Noah

I loved this show when I was a kid, and I loved James Marsden in it. He was so young and cute!

Number Seven
Hyperion Bay

This was on late night tv in Australia and I caught it by accident, but loved it because Zach Morris (aka Mark-Paul Gosselaar) was the main character. Seriously, that was my only reason for liking it!

Number Six
The Raggy Dolls

One of my favourite childhood programs. I still use the term 'Sad Sack' today. "Raggy Dolls, Raggy Dolls, dolls like you and me!"

Number Five
What I Like About You

I know the first season is out but they're taking for-freaking-ever to release the rest of the seasons. Hurry up people! I love me some Amanda Bynes. I wish I was as funny as her....

Number Four
Reunion

We never got this in Australia which makes me sad because it has three of the cutest boys in Hollywood - Sean Faris, Dave Annable and Will Estes. I wanna see it!

Number Three
Ed

Ah, Ed. Stuck in Stuckeyville. (It was Stuckeyville right?) What a fun show. Although sometimes the characters were a bit too quirky for me, Ed himself grounded it. He was a great lead.

Number Two
Jack & Jill

This is one of my all-time favourite shows. I miss it so much. Jill was such a hottie - I loved when Ivan Sergei turned up on Charmed a few years later (but hated that he ended up with Paige!). I loved all the characters. Audrey was probably my least favourite but I so wanted her and Barto to be together. And Mikey! Ahhh Simon Rex, how the mighty did fall.
I still own the pilot on VHS. Haha. I love when Jack & Jill are playing in the toy store together.

Number One
Two Guys, A Girl and a Pizza Place

Come on guys, really. Why on Earth is this not on DVD yet? My first introduction to Ryan Reynolds so it will always have a special place in my heart! <3

Life

So I am finally back in the States, loving the hot weather! My favourite thing? Cheap TV on DVD! Yay!

I've already collected quite a few sets, just in the past 3 weeks! My life is awesome! haha

---------------------------------------------

I watched the first season of My Boys, which I loved. Although I'm not a huge fan of PJ which is weird I guess cos she's the main character, but then I always hated Dawson on Dawson's Creek too. Not that I hate PJ, I can't believe I just compared her to Dawson! Brendan is definitely my favourite character. PJ should be with him, not Bobby. Their hookup was so hot....and then.....nothing! So irritating. I adore Andy and Kenny too, but Stephanie is the only character I actually don't like.

I guess I relate to PJ a bit (wish I could relate to her on the job front!). I've never been a 'girly girl', and I've always had more guy friends than girl friends.

One question though (Romine, you might be able to answer this), how does PJ know Mike and Kenny?

----------------------------------------------

Reba! Don't judge me, I love her!!! Van is definitely my favourite character and we can do without Barbara Jean thank you.

I've seen lots of episodes here and there but I really wanted to watch it from the beginning, in order. So I haven't been watching the DVD's religiously because I know most of the plot lines. But it's still fun and it makes me laugh.

----------------------------------------------

I started watching Friday Night Lights yesterday, watched 5 episodes so far. To be honest, it was Ausiello that drew me to this show, he's so obsessed with it. And I know it's critically acclaimed etc etc. Plus, I've loved Kyle Chandler since Early Edition. I think he was my first TV crush, apart from Zach Morris!

I wasn't hooked with the pilot. It was your general run-of-the-mill sports ending, which, don't get me wrong, I love, but it didn't seem to be anything different. That said, I knew if I kept watching, I'd get sucked in and I was right!

I love Coach Taylor but I think that's partly to do with the fact he's played by Chandler. Matt is adorable, I love how awkward he is. I also like Jason, but I wish they'd get rid of Lyla. Good God she's annoying. Can't stand Tyra either but I hear she improves when she hooks up with Landry. I'm indifferent to Tim. And I still think Taylor Kitsch was a terrible casting choice for Gambit.

I guess I'll keep you updated with how my opinions change as I keep watching! I love the camera work in this show by the way. Peter Berg is a genius.

Sets bought but yet to watch: Life As We Know It (Sean Faris - yum!), Friday Night Lights S2, Saved By The Bell: The New Class S1 (loved it, and the original, when I was a kid), and Reba S2.

The List Series: Top 10 Animated Disney Movies

Excluding Pixar movies!

Honourable mentions to Dumbo, The Lion King, Beauty & The Beast, and The Fox & The Hound.

NUMBER TEN
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
The original Disney blockbuster, and still much-loved today, 70 years later.
Dopey was always my favourite!

NUMBER NINE
One Hundred and One Dalmatians
How could you not adore this dual love story? Pongo and Perdita, Anita and Roger - two couples who have mastered the art of looking longingly into each other's eyes. Who cares if it's not real? Plus, I played Jasper in a ballet once so I'm a little biased. :)

NUMBER EIGHT
The Lady and the Tramp
Ok, so I'm a sucker for the animal ones. But Tramp is so cute! And Lady's eyes...no wonder he fell in love so quick! When it appears Trusty dies toward the end of the film, I cry every time. Thank heavens Walt Disney made the animators keep him alive!

NUMBER SEVEN
The Emperor's New Groove
Perhaps the only David Spade role I actually enjoy! One of the funnier Disney movies I've seen.

NUMBER SIX
The Jungle Book
What child around the world doesn't love Baloo? It's just the simple bear necessities of life!
This movie just have the most memorable list of characters from the lovable Baloo to madcap King Louie, evil Shere Khan and the selfless, wise Bagheera.

NUMBER FIVE
Peter Pan
Was I the only one who wanted to fly to Neverland? Or the only one who wanted Nana to go with them? Or the only one who hated Tinkerbell? What a magical story. It never gets old, does it?

NUMBER FOUR
The Little Mermaid
In my opinion, Ariel is the prettiest princess :) And Ursula is the most horrible villain. And The Little Mermaid has the best soundtrack. "Life can be better, down where it's wetter, take it from me!"
Just a sweet, innocent story. Brushing her hair with a fork? Adorable.
Nothing like the story it's based on, but that's what makes it great.

NUMBER THREE
Aladdin
This is the one Disney movie I would love the see (hear?) the outtakes of. Robin Williams' improvisation is legendary and supposedly a lot of the stuff he came up with was unsuitable for the young audience. But what a picture! Sure, it's a typical timeless love story - poor boy meets rich girl and they fall in love - but it's so much more than that. With an array of colourful characters, and not just Williams' genie, and genuinely funny moments, plus an Oscar-winning song, I think this film will still be a favourite in years to come.

NUMBER TWO
The Sword in the Stone
A take on King Arthur as a young boy. Merlin is amazing, and Archimedes the owl nails the 'disgruntled sidekick' character. But I don't love this movie for the characters, I love it for the magic and the mystery and the transformation sub-plots. The squirrel part is my particular favourite. This film is severely under-rated. If you haven't seen it, go and rent it. Now.

NUMBER ONE
Robin Hood
This has always been my favourite, ever since I was a little girl. I can't remember a movie I watched more during my childhood. I'm not sure what exactly it is that makes me love it so much, but no other Disney movie has ever come close to matching the adoration I have for this film. Electing to have Robin and Marion as foxes was a great decision. Marion was a lovely Vixen. Little John - perfect as a bear. In fact, the animal choices were spot on for all characters. I have never seen any of the Disney sequels, except for Return of Jafar. I would see a thousand sequels to Robin Hood! I just love it.

Ryan is the Lantern!

That's right, my Fantasy Husband has been cast to play the DC superhero the Green Lantern.
That means he'll have a Marvel movie (Deadpool) and a DC one.
Which is all right by me!!!

http://www.reuters.com/article/entertainmentNews/idUSTRE56A0CE20090711

Apparently the others in the running were Jared Leto, Bradley Cooper and Justin Timberlake.
Timberlake and Leto can't act. Thank goodness they weren't cast. Would have been interesting to see Cooper but he is the flavour of the month at the month so I'm glad they didn't go with him just because of that. I'm always happy for a new Ryan movie!

The List Series: Top 10 TV Couples

Introducing....The List Series!

There have been a lot of these lists compiled over the years, and I am an avid lover/reader of them. I'm starting with a common one. Keep in mind, these lists are just my opinion, and I obviously haven't seen every TV show ever made, these are just my favourites. It was VERY hard! Some I'd like to mention before I even begin: Alex & Izzie, Piper & Leo, Maggie & PJ, Ally & Billy, Bailey & Sarah, Jesse & Rebecca, Seth & Summer, Buffy & Angel, Mike & Carol, Billy & Allison, Grace & Leo, Mary & Robbie, JJ & Beth, Liz & Max, Carter & Lucy, Brandon & Kelly....just to name a few!!! haha

My rules: Only one couple per show.

NUMBER TEN
Steve & Susan - Coupling
I'm a huge Jack Davenport fan and he was absolutely gorgeous as Steve - the guy who tried desperately to do and say the right thing but somehow always failed. He was incredibly endearing. And funny. He was devoted to Susan, and, though she tried to deny it, she was just as devoted to him.

NUMBER NINE
Noah & Hayley - Home & Away
Weren't these two just adorable? They belonged together and we all knew it from the moment they met. I have never cried as much at an episode of television as I did when Noah died.
Honourable mention - Shane & Angel

NUMBER EIGHT
Marshall & Lily - How I Met Your Mother
The epitome of the perfect couple. Two people who have known each other for years, are comfortable enough to fart in front of each other and yet, their love only gets stronger. After ten years, they can't keep their hands off of one another. They give themselves completely to each other and can't stand to be apart. Even after calling it quits, they managed to find their way back to each other, albeit hilariously! We also have the added bonus of knowing they'll still be together far into the future. Lilypad and Marshmallow forever!

NUMBER SEVEN
Pacey & Joey - Dawson's Creek
I never wanted Joey and Dawson together. They were so much better as friends. Pacey was the guy for Joey. He was entirely devoted to her and waited for her for years. And she always knew in her heart that Pacey was the one. They made each other better people.
Honourable Mention - Mitch & Gail

NUMBER SIX
Jess & Rory - Gilmore Girls
He was the only guy who truly understood her. I like to think that Rory went back to Jess after she turned down Logan's proposal.
I loved that he finally gathered the courage to admit he loved her, only to lose his nerve and run off. It showed that the normally cool Jess was willing to change for Rory. Which he did. His life choices were heavily influenced by Rory, even when they weren't together. I don't believe he held her back, I think he pushed her to stay true to herself.
Honourable Mention - Luke & Lorelai

NUMBER FIVE
Zack & Kelly - Saved By The Bell
One of the most endearing on/off couples. But we always knew they'd end up together, no matter how many times they broke up. Ah, young love!

NUMBER FOUR
Cappie & Casey - Greek
The newest couple on the list, and yet, one of my favorites. They're soulmates. No girl will ever compare to Casey in Cappie's eyes. I'm so glad they've finally admitted their feelings for one another, although they are yet to actually commit to each other. No secret has been made of how much these two are meant for each other. I know they'll be together eventually.

NUMBER THREE
Nathan & Haley - One Tree Hill
Where to start? Haley made Nathan want to be a better person, so that he would be worthy of her. But for Haley, he has always been worthy. They've had their share of ups and downs but always find each other. They were married twice before they reached college, but for these two it isn't weird. It's the most normal thing in the world. Always and Forever.
Honourable Mentions - Jake & Peyton, Keith & Karen, Julian & Brooke

NUMBER TWO
Ross & Rachel - Friends
Never my favourite Friends couple, but the most endearing. Ross and Rachel are synonymous. They are entrenched in pop culture. Will they? Won't they? Of course they will! A beautiful ending for a deserving couple. (I hope they lasted!)
Honourable Mention - Chandler & Monica

NUMBER ONE
Vaughn & Sydney - Alias
A lot of people may not agree with this, but these two were destined to be together. Their love never wavered. Even when he was married to Lauren his heart lay with Sydney. Vaughn's father gave him his watch and told him you could set your heart by it. It stopped the day Michael met Sydney. To me, that says it all.

Rhythm of Alias

I am rediscovering my love of Alias. I've started watching the DVDs from the beginning. How was this show ever cancelled??

Sydney and Vaughn have to be one of my all-time favourite television couples. And how awesome is Sark?! Love him.

I found a poll on IMDb asking for your 5 favourite characters but I had too many!

Sydney (of course)
Vaughn
Jack
Sark
Weiss
Marshall
Will
Dixon

That's basically the entire cast! lol.
Dixon wouldn't normally have been on that list but, rewatching the series, I realise he's great.
I love when Will comes back in Season 5 - that was one of my favourite missions.

Anyway, I'm babbling. My point of this post was to share this picture. It's actually a wallpaper. I found it years ago, when I was at university. My roommate was as obsessed with the show as I was and we came across it on the internet. I've always remembered it and watching the show again made me want to find it.

The quote is:
"They say the rhythm of the Earth is interrupted by the out of the ordinary, but how can you interrupt, with something that was meant to be?"
Beautiful isn't it?
It was found on a site called Rambaldi's Studio.
